I got a Ibanez gsr180 for Christmas and have had no problems until recently. When I touch the strings or bridge a static pop is heard through the amp.I took it to a guitar tech who said there was no problem with ground wires etc.But im still stuck with this popping noise.I tryed it downstairs and it goes away. However its more convinient upstairs .I suspect this could be my sattelite dish outside my window. Is this the case? Would it go away if I bought another bass say Squire Cv pbass would the pickups stop interferance Any thoughts are apreciated.Sorry if this has previously been covered in a different thread.
Would humbuckers solve this? The tech said there is a chance it could be interferance so thats why I thought it was my sattelite dish. Its only just started recently so I dont think it the upstair electronics
Plugged it into rocksmith(video game for bass) and pop still occurs must be interferance have to deal with it I guess
Humbuckers wont solve this i am afriad but EMG pickups will. They are internally shielded and sounds great. Dead quiet all the time
