Can anyone tell me which model this is? My Google-Fu let me down this time. Thank you!

Maybe a custom shop model or something modded. Any pics of the back and the back of the headstock?

These are all the pics I have at the moment. It's listed for sale at a very low price, but the seller didn't include any more info and hasn't responded to my inquiries. I'm not that familiar with newer Ibanez basses, and just thought it looked slightly more upscale than the cheaper models. You don't see that many cheap basses with monorail bridges.

Hard to tell from those pics. Could be a higher end model but also could be an inexpensive model that has been modded.

From those two pics, its hard to tell whether it is actually a real Ibanez.

Yeah a pic of the back of the headstock should clear that right up. The (Monorail?) bridges look right. The shape looks right.

The knob and output jack layout are a bit iffy. But who would fake a bass and sell it for $200?

For the asking price, it could be either and still be a good deal. If it is in fact a higher end model, I would rather let him know that it's worth more than he's asking.

    it's neck through
that's not a usual ibanez truss rod cover
that's the monorail 2 bridge most commonly seen on early 2000s BTB basses

but the placement of the bridge so far from the rear of the body and the control layout does not seem very ibanez

also i've never seen pickups with 4 corner mounting screws like that on an SR style body from that period.

    i don't think it's a real ibanez.

It's unlikely that it's a copy, but now he's updated the ad, stating that it cost less than $300 new together with a cheapo AXL amp. Looks like it's possibly a lowend pre-SDgr Ibby?

a low end would not be neck through

Soundgears have been around for decades. That bridge hasn't been.

I'm tempted to buy it just to find out what it is.

I probably would, if he's not asking too much!

the closest looking pickup to those that ibanez has used are the DX-6 and they look like this
    Ibanez-SR760_JM_big_-1509575735-2.
the pickup mounting screw locations are not the same.

that control layout does not look very ibanez.
that bridge placement is really unusual for ibanez.
    i don't think it's a real ibanez.

Thanks, guys. I'll ask if he'll ship it and keep the crappy amp. He's asking around $120.

The neck inlay does suggest a higher end neck. The "slotted" output jack is like the one on my SR505 and my soap bars do have exposed screws. The body is very Ibanez. I've seen that headstock on other Ibby models. The bridge is the only thing that looks out of place to me - but I'm far from an expert in these matters....

The moment you posted that SR505, an identical bass popped up for sale over here.

Edit: Sorry, it was an SR500, but same finish. Still a funny coincidence.
