Putting this little project up for sale. I need another full scale bass d this is all I have that has any worthwhile value for sale or trade.

    Trade interests (UPDATED):
    • 4 STRING P or J bodies, loaded with humbuckers (EMG, Bartolini, DiMarzio, Duncan). Needs to be lightweight: 4.5 Lbs or less (loaded)
    • Condition is negotiable: hit me up and let’s see what works!
    • Preamp pedals: SansAmp V2 BDDI or VT, EBS Micro Bass II, other(?)

This started out as a standard Ibby Mikro 5, 2018 Model; I replaced all the hardware (original is chrome), pickups and preamp.
    • Poplar body
    • Jatoba fretboard on maple shaft
It’s in good shape. I tried to keep it pretty scratch free, but nothing stays perfect when you’re modding and playing. You would need to look real close, but this is not a museum piece or that collectible. I assume if you are looking at this listing, you are not wanting a high dollar investment like many custom builders offer.

    • Bartolini X4 pickups:
    • ‘Neck’ Pickup is a in-line split coil model # 74X45J1-T
    • ‘Bridge’ Pickup is a single coil model # X45CBJS-B1
    • Custom pickguard: the neck jazz pickup rout can still be used!
My thought was to rout the original pickup locations for these pickups, in a (it was a stretch) “PJ” setup, bucker in Neck and single in Bridge. Kept looking at some cool basses with slanted coils and thought that was a great idea. It worked! Really adds some definition to the lower strings. These are wired in series at the moment. Each pickup is 2 conductor, so could be wired in parallel or a switch can be installed for splitting purposes.

    • Passive volume feeds into EMG SPC and then into EMG BTC
I like the SPC as a ‘boost only’ mid control. For the most part, this bass has plenty of low mid umph and the SPC is centered (ish) at the 1kHz. Some of you savvy FOH guys know that’s more bread and butter than the industry 400-800 Hz boost we get on some basses. I may be wrong, but it has been a winning combo for me for a long time.

    • Brass nut: way better than the factory plastic. Some people like the plastic, so it’s included.
    • Oversized strap buttons. Added one on the bottom and installed a screw in the original hole.
    • Generic bridge with brass saddles. Good quality. You see it’s moved back for proper intonation, a real problem with these basses when set up at the factory.
    • Hipshot Ultra-Low Baritone Grip-Lok Tuners: I cannot complimemt enough about the capability of these little tuners! They maintain tuning like a champ, and reduce the weight of the bass at least a pound (over the original tuners). I played a 3 hour practice and re-tuned only 3 times. Pretty good for over 20 tunes and stop/start.
    • I had to fill the holes in the headstock and use my jig to re-drill for the Hipshots. Ibanez drills Th e ‘A’ string tuner offset toward the bass side of the headstock. The look is not pleasing and I wanted the string to have a more centered path, so I moved it over to the center about a 1/4”. You can see the color difference in the finish and the black epoxy on the headstock face, and a little behind the Tuner in the back. Not bad from a few feet away, though.
    • EMG knobs (from the SPC/BTC kits).
    • NS Micro Tuner: Attached by a screw (in an original tuner hole). This works pretty good, via the 12th fret harmonic. Fairly accurate: I used it for my first pass on intonation, and finished by with more quality strobe tuner.
    • 2 NEW sets of Mikro strings (current strings are from the factory; replacement strings do not have any silk)
    • NEW Road Runner gig bag: never left the house.
    • Barrel knobs for the tuners: turn your Mikro tuners into a miniature Gary Willis bass!
    • Extra “Y” button, set screws and Tuner nut/washer
PayPal only (unless we come to a trade agreement). I ship quickly and safely.

Here’s a picture showing the barrel keys on the tuners and before I trimmed the pickguard:
