Ibanez Pickup noise

    I've just got an old 90's Ibanez SR800 with P/J pickups and it's great when just using the bridge pickup but on the neck pickup there's a low rumbling, like distant thunder. Adjusting tone or volume doesn't make it go away. Any ideas what this could be? How would I fix it?

    Try Shielding the Control and pickup Cavities. It is single coil hum. If you move away from your amp it should stop.

    the neck pickup on a SR800 is a split-coil (two coils) humbucking pickup:
