Has anybody had any experiences with this bass or heard anything about it? I haven't got to play one yet, but was wondering how it stacks up against some of the other 5ers in it's price range.

Ibanez is probably your best quality/price class.

No fancy stuff (like golden assets), but decent material.

When you're a bit larger in volume (having a smaller belly) I definately would reccomend the 905 though.
Only for the bridge used there, and REAL bartolini pickups, which sound slightly better (and also neck thru, but I don't mind 505 to have bolt on..)

Some minor parts I noticed, strings resonate very easely, and high overtones/harmonics.

further more, a top of the line beauty. The only reason why I thought of not buying the 905, was because of the reddish look. I didn't like that. I wished it was delivered in more wood colors.
