I have an old Ibanez Roadster a friend of mine is giving to me because he is not using it anymore. This bass sound awesome, the pups are a bit noisey thou. Has anybody out there made any modification to this type of bass before, if so, can you give me some information and suggestions, I am thinking about changing out the pups & make it active, its definately a keeper, heavy and built like a tank, thanks

Whoa, thats exactly the model I have in that pic. Me, I had Chris Benavente pull off the fretboard (I have one of his fretted 4-string 219s) and put on a composite wood/epoxy fretboard on. Sounds great as a fretless!

K-Frog, it looks exactly like that one with the exception that mine is black, and also I notice you have an extra toggle switch. So, what can you tell me about this bass, what mods did you make, or any suggestions.

I only know that this model was active and had a massive cast bridge. I snagged that picture off of eBay a few years back after finding an identical bass in a pawn shop. The bass hung there for a while and was eventually purchased by someone else. i think there is a website dedicated to vintage Ibanez basses. You could get some help there.
