    None.
    hi all,

i've been looking for an envelope filter sound.

similar to gary willis on astro chimp/tribal tech.

    he uses a lexicon mpx1.

so, i tried GC and got the SB7. not bad.

i hate hate HATE the case and buttons, very cheesey.

but, i can get some good muffled fart sounds with some delicate settings.

anyone compare the bassballs or other units to this?

i like it so far. $75.

    thoughts?

    fred

I tried the bass balls and the SB7. I bought the SB7. It seemed like you have the ability to control a little more variation in tone and effects.

  3. Boss SYB-3 and Bassballs for me; call me old school. While I have not tried the SB-7, I would probably do so if I were just starting out to build my FX rig, based upon the feedback from this and other threads. I like the tone-lock idea behind the Ibanez pedals. Hey, if you look at the editions of Bass Player from earlier this year they have a special offer: Buy 2 Ibanez pedals and get a 3-pedal case (a la the more famouse Boss version) for free. Expires July 31st, so get crackin' if you're into it.

  4. I've got one and it's really cool. A word of advice, though: it needs to be driven hard to get a good sound. I have mine behind my MXR M-80, and I can get some cool sounds out of it.
