Has anyone got or played one of these? Ive been planning on buying a synth for ages and stumbled across this one. Is it any good? How does it compair to other makes. And if its rubbish can anyone recomend a better one. Preferably not too expensive tho. cheers guys
A search will give you plenty of results. I like mine, but rarely use it because (this is embarassing) I don't have an extra patch cable to fit it into my chain.
I just picked one of these up, is a very cool pedal. Definitely worth the money, but even better if you can pick up one for $50 on ebay as I did, and I'm likin' it!
I love mine... But as Bliss stated is quite obnoxious, I put a boss bass chorus after it - and that seems to tame its uper harmonics quite well... Alex
I've had one for nearly two years. I use it ocassionally for funky solos or song intros. I find that using it with a octave pedal gets you close to a fat synth bass tone. You'll be able to find some usable settings after spending some time with a little tweaking. I've since bought an Akai Deep Impact which gets you closer to the old keyboard synth bass tone. I won't sell the SB7 though, I like the envelope / autowah effect that you can get with it. I've also tried the Digitech pedal which is similar to the SB7; it's decent for the price. I can't tell you much more cause I didn't spend a lot of time with it. The Boss pedal is another option, but I've never tried one. If you do a search of this forum you'll fund many comments on the Boss. SB7 sample
Nice pedal, i think it's better then Boss SYB-3 bass shyntesizer.. I'm glad, that i bought this pedel, good bargain.. .. See ya!
I had one (Ibanez SB7) Compared to my Akai Deep Impact, the tones were weak. However, I thought I'd use it for the Autowah. Since then I've traded it for a EH Mini Q-Tron.
Check out the Digitech - I LOVE mine! I just started jamming in a band that plays a lot of spacey, electronica-type jams and Radiohead-influenced stuff and it really does the job for me.
Will the SB7 track when slapping? I can't use my Boss Synth as it doesn't like to track very well.... I did like the Sounds posted for the SB7, but tracking is CRUCIAL for me. Also GFAB333 can you post your settings? Sounded very cool!
Biergot, I don't have the pedal in front of me, but if you approach the nobs from left to right the settings are (using clock settings) 9:30, 10:00, 12:00, 1:00. The switches are set to "auto wah" and "slow". With these settings and my basses, I can slap and obtain good tracking. Keep in mind, your settings may be different (in order to achieve the same sound) depending on your bass and your rig. It's a good pedal for the price.
Hey guys... The SB7 does not track well at all, because IT DOSN'T track. It is 2 envilope filters with a resonant filter in between... Unlike the boss syb-3 and the deep impact (which track your note and produce a synthasized note of the same value), the sb7 mearly modulates your tone with a set of 3 filter mentioned above... So yes it tracks very well, while not tracking at all... To ansure your question, you can do antything with it and it will work... Cheers Alex
I like mine pretty well, but I'm selling it because my bass V-amp gets me all the sounds I need. If you're interested in buying it, send m a PM. I've got an adaptor, too.
Hello Can anyone compare EBS IQ and IBANEZ SB7 ? I really liked the price of the IBANEZ. Plus they dont sell EBS in where i live... and it is much more expensive. IS IBANEZ ANALOG ???? I want ENVELOPE FILTER & AUTO WAH. IBANEZ sounds like one. RÝGHT ? I HATED the BOSS bass SYNTH.
I have said it before, and I am saying it again... Us canucks think alike eh!.. I love how phat the chorus makes the sb7, sounds like heavin... Alex
But i realised that ( tell me if i am wrong ) with the IBANEZ SYNTH you can also get the same filter-wah sounds as EBS IQ. So with IBANEZ you get filter wah + synthesiser . Am i right ?
