Ibanez sr 305

Tell me about the Ibanez sr 305.

I find myself in need of a 5 string. If things keep going the way they are maybe 2, for different tunings/strings. My player is a heavily modded sr800 so shape and feel will be very similar.

I don't want to spend a ton on it but dont mind upgrading the electronics if needed.

Does the pre in these sound as bad as the pre that comes in the models with the Bart pickups? It will be used almost exclusively for rock so I'm thinking I can get away with a bit more of a clumsy/ not super accurate pre this time around.

Anyone changed electronics in one? What did you wind up with?
