  1. Any of you guys ever played on one? I just got one about 3 weeks ago, and I love it. Just wondering what you guys think of it.

My first 6 string was this bass. Very nice for the price. The neck-through model, SR1306, is sweet too. It's a heavy bass though, with the maple body.

The 1306 is not Neck-through, that would be the SR 1206.
The SR1306 Has a Bolt-On Wenge-Bubinga Neck with wenge fingerboard and Mahogany-Padauk Body.
The SR1206 Has a Figured Maple Body with Neck Trough Wenge/Maple Neck.

About the 506, its really a good bass, I had one of those for some time, and was my first 6 String.
It has a better neck than the 4 or 5 String SR´s

Mine was the older one with a 2 Band EQ and ADX Pickups.

  5. That would be the one I got.

And that's the same one that I've got as well.

All right 6 for the price. Tone leaves something to be desired IMHO. Sice I got my Cirrus, the Peavey will not see much action, although I am thinking of defretting it.

It would be nice to have a fretless 6.

    Here's a pic of mine.

Luis - thanks for the correction. You know Ibanez's better than me!

Embellisher - when I bought my Yamaha TRB6P about 5-6 years ago, I promptly defretted my SR506 - I got my luthier to do it for me (AU$400 which is about US$200)- he filled the holes with a filler that had the same colour as the fretboard - the bass ended up looking very nice (my bass had a natural finish), and sounded good too.

Yeah, I think that you're the one that gave me the idea.
