Ibanez SR305...ahem, heavily modded , desperate to sell!

Well, it used to be an Ibanez SR305DX. Then, I decided to make it fretless. Not a bad job, can sorta feel the spaces where the frets were, only if ya run your fingernail down it though, and it doesn't affect the sound at all. I have them filled with good ol wood filler, then painted with a silver paint.

Next, I didn't like the color. SO I sanded it down, primed and painted it. Looks pretty good, to me. No runs or anything. Can get all sorts of pics. I painted the headstock to match...

Next, my bridge pickup killed over, SO, I decided to put new pickups in all around. I bought P/J style ones (from a Yamaha BB5000) and put them in, and had blocks of wood made (by a local carpenter) to fill in the gaps. I haven't been able to finish the wiring on this bass yet, cos I can't find diagrams.

Lastly, I love the feel of a unfinished neck, so I sanded the back of the neck down. Then, the back of t he headstock still looked shiny, so I sanded it...BUT, there is now no model nor serial numbers! So...yeah...I know it was made in '01 though cos of marks on the neck & body.

Like I said, I can get all sorts of pics of it. I'd like to get $200 for it, for a MUCH needed bass, a Peavey TL-5 for sale on on here actually. I can do as little as $175, but would hesitate to go any lower.

So please, help out me who desperatly needs a good fiver stringer! I'm not saying this one's all that great, but once you get the wiring done, it'll be a decent first or second fiver.

Make offers though, I'm up for trades as well, though I'd MUCH prefer the cash so I can get that TL-5!!!

That's a piece of tape coming out of the control cavity, there's nothing holding the battery in, so you'll have to fix that, or leave it as I did...

In life, you can't see that at all from about 1' away, unless you really know to look for it, due to the expiremental paint job..

As I said, you'll have to have someone finish the electronic work. NONE of the knobs work at all, but you can still plug it in and play, I got that much done. YOu'll also need to buy nuts for the knobs, I don't have them but will be sending the top things (erm, can't think of the name, the part you actually turn)

Comes with Dunlop strap locks and a nice WIDE flamed strap.

With all the stuff needing to be done, I'm knocking the price down to $150. Trades are welcomed, but I want a five stringer. I have $140 I can add on top of this if you'd like as well, to call for even trades.

Well, from the sarcasm level, and lack of replies, it seems that'll happen. Please e-mail me or IM me with ANY questions you have! I DID get the pickups to have output, but the knobs don't work. If you want, I can take it to the local shop guy, he gives me a pretty hefty discount, but I'd be forced to add it onto the price being that I need the cash for the bass! Contact me...

Again, everybody, the bass works great, and sounds MUCH much much better than it ever would've with the old electronics in it.

Cheezewiz: First off, what do you mean the fretboard looks like trash? *scratches head* It's completly smooth, and has paint for markers, but I don't see how you say it looks like trash?
The only spot on the body that looks bad at all is the spot where the new slugs were made....and the finish doesn't look att THAT bad. It's not really shiny, but it's got shine, and figuring that a 17 year old did 99% of the work to this, you can't give me a break?

Ok, I now really need to sell this thing, with the purchase of a Spector NS2000 Q5 and a Sitar coming along, this guy just sits there and collects dust. Still in the exact same condition as was posted on this thread. Clearing price of $100 + you pay shipping, with gig bag, and new strings put on it. Someone pleeeeaassssse please please take this thing!
