I just wanted to know what everybody thinks of the Ibanez SR405 bass guitar.

I owned one. My first 5.
The neck was fine, though not as good as the "upper" SR series (800+).
I liked the body shape and the overall comfort of this bass.
With a good setup, it can be a very fast bass.
You can get a large variety of sounds from this bass but it lacks a bit of depth.
I heard that changing the preamp can greatly improve this.

I had one too.Not the greatest 5 Ive played, but considering the price it was a decent Bass.I did think the strings were a little too close to each other, though.

I own one as well and I love my baby. I have already changed the strings and I plan on changing the preamp as well. I am content with it.

I had an sr400 and an Sr885, I thought the 400 was a bit better than the 800 was, I prefered the tone of it a little bit more. Its made of maple so it had a brighter tone and a bit more resonance than the 800. But for the money there are much better brands that you can get. This of course is just my opinion.
