I am getting ready to order some new knobs for my new sr505. I found some that appear to be the type used on the higher end Premium and Prestige basses. I want to get the right sizes and wondered if anybody knew the shaft sizes and if they are knurled, split, or what. I have not had the chance to pull the old ones yet and not sure I have a means to accurately measure the diameter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think it depends on your model year. Ibanez has a rundown of specs based on model year. The search function under "Find a Part Number" opens up a small window:

Chances are the pots are solid and the knobs have a set screw to cinch them on. You could have either 6mm or 8mm pot diameters, give or take a few tenths. This might also help: http://forum.ibanez.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=82349 If you really want to be accurate, I recommend 4-or 6-inch digital calipers. They have instant inch/metric conversion and inside/outside diameter. I got 'em for <$20 at Harbor Freight.

Thanks, that's helpful. That is a handy tool to have around.
