  1. How would it sound...Im not sure, because its a guitar pedal. Would I get a nice warm overdrive?

I really don't think you'd get much of a warm overdrive from it on a bass without any mods. I use an original one for some over-the-top lead type stuff, but don't venture into the low territory with it much at all. Try a search for overdrives, and I think you'll come up with much better options than the TS-9.

The TS-9 is actually just about the bassiest Tubescreamer out there. I'm trying to find that one site, about bass and tubescreamers. Will let you know.

I have a TS-5 (the "ladybug" pedal version) and it sounds warm enough if you turn down the tone control some. Low settings of the gain/drive knob will give you a light breakup.

Helps if your cabs have no tweeters when you use distortion, otherwise it gets very fizzy sounding.
