This bass was made for an Ibanez endorser. US Custom Shop made, probably within the last three years. Looks like it must have been a backup bass because there's not a mark on it. Can't find a serial number (not in the back cavity, neck pocket just has "MAHO" hand written in marker).

5-String ATK with solid mahogany body (natural clear finish, shows off the red of the mahogany), 5-piece Wenge/Maple/Padauk neck, wenge fingerboard, triple coil bridge pickup + J neck pickup, 3-band EQ + series/parallel/coil split modes. 17mm spacing (ala Stingray 5), 12 lbs (it's a beast).

How's it sound? Balls to the wall - super aggressive, heavy tone. Can roll it back and it gets really smooth and warm. Comes in a beat up Washburn flight case (was on the Warped tour) - all latches work and the case does the job.

NOW ON EBAY! International shipping is no problem, just PM for a quote.

Love, Love, LOVE That!!!!! Freakin' Beautiful!!! Just sayin'
  5. HOLY MOTHER EFFING ****, this Ibanez is awesome!!!

Also, it's important to say that all Custom Shop ATK basses have the free floating truss rod/neck design that is also used in 5000$ Henmann Belivacqua basses.

Thanks for the compliment, but this bass doesn't have the tension free neck (and neither have the three other Custom Shop ATK's I've had in the past). Standard truss rod. Are you referring to the old USA ATK's with Dave Bunker's (PBC) tension free neck?
  7. I've had one of this shop's ATKs, and I can tell you this is a super bass.

I bought an old US ATK when they first came out in the 90's...great basses! This one kills!

Just out of sheer curiosity, any reason why it doesn't have a serial number and a "made in USA" stamp on the back of the headstock?
  12. You are spot on here- the production model USA ATK's were the ones with the floating Bunker neck and made by Bunker. The custom shops are just that- built by Ibanez in their (possibly outsourced) custom shop. The Bunkers are pretty rare beasts too. I recently picked one up and it is awesome! This one for sale here looks pretty sweet too and the price is VERY reasonable.

Every US Custom Shop bass I've had before had an LAXXXXXX serial number on it, but they put them on a label on the back of the headstock. Likely the serial number was just peeled off. I have a Custom Shop Soundgear from the same guy and it's missing the serial number too.

Here's a pic of the US Custom Shop I got from Rufus Philpot:
