After playing my Ibby 1206e Premium for a while now, I'm real impressed with the big Nordy singles. The sound of this bass amazes me. Almost identical sounding to Carvin SBs that I've seen on videos.

I'm curious if any one out there that has an SB and either a SR1200 or Sr1400 series with the Nordstrand singles? Wondering how they compare.

Ibanez has something going with these models.

I owned a Carvin SB for a few months, and I have played the new Ibby 1205. Honestly they are different animals imo. The Carvin sounds much closer to a Fender jazz which is what they were aiming for.

i will say that i dont care for Ibanez basses very much but that particular model had me rethinking my stance on Ibbys. Those are smokin basses. Great pallet of tones on board.

  3. I think the Grooveline is much closer to the SB series in tone and look. Although not very close in price.
