I'm only posting this here because the North American media is completely censoring this story . I feel it's important for everyone to see. If what you have to say is political, please don't say it here. I understand that this article is biased at times, but I couldn't find a better one. I'm solely trying to provide information.

I don't see this working out well on a number of levels.

But I'll play. I forgive you all of your debt. There. I feel better already. Enjoy.

It is really not all that different then our quantitative easing.
Instead of forgiving debt, our government went on a wild spending spree, then just printed more money to cover the increased debt. Our own government and media kept part of that quiet.
We heard a little bit about it, but the media never mentioned that quantitative easing is usually a last resort of failed economies, and that it has never once resulted in long term economic strength. In fact it ALWAYS results in the value of the dollar dropping, and increased inflation

I stopped reading when I hit this sentence:

"This could very well be the first chime of many to signal the Death of the World Banking System headed by our ‘good’ friends the Rothschild’s."

Apostrophe abuse is a big turn-off for me ;)

I'm interested to see how this plays out; last I checked, they were having trouble with their currency (but I don't follow Icelandic news particularly well).

And it's a real bummer. On another forum I frequent discourse is encouraged under some sensible conditions. No personal attacks. Simple as that. Given we have a section separated from the relevant information and threads on Talkbass, it could work.

Pretty much. Will just lead to more market distortions, moral hazard and what not. Also the silly notion of producing capital from a printing press. LOL.

  15. YES!!! People all over the world, put on your Guy Fawlkes mask and stand up and refuse to pay for the things you have bought on credit!!

Then go on to demand that the government give you things without requiring payment!

Then demand that people who are wealthier than you pay for stuff you want to possess but do not want to work for!

    99% ...stupid.

    I'm outta duct tape... sorry.

Iceland was in the same pickle as we and most of the rest of the world are. However, they rejected the "payday loan" that Goldman-Sachs was trying to push on them and took other measures to take control of their economy, and they have succeeded to the point that they can absorb everyone's mortgage debt!

This move has scared the c**p out of G-S which is why they then steered the payday loan to Greece, who is now paying the price.

The big banks and corporations are so in control of our government and media that they are trying to prevent us from learning about this - that it CAN be done.

Further - Iceland provides nearly every possible social service to their population, from health care to university education.
