Three of us TBers are trying to identify these strings. Anyone recognize them? Gold wrappings.
Help us out!
Dean Markley SR2000?
Whats going on at the ball end?
Glad you showed up in this thread!
Here is are the ball ends
Look like DR Legend Flatwounds.
If flats please let us know!
Then Imfreeman9 is correct, but the E string from the low resolution photo looks like a round...
The Gold silk is too bright to be SR2000's...
At first I thought MTD because the Stainless MTD's have that color silk but the shape of the silk do not match up...
I was trying to see the core sticking out from the ball end on the E string... If I was able to see the core better it would help determine if they are Legends...
They are rounds. I appreciate the Sherlock homes help here
Are these Dean Markley Super Rounds maybe?
If they are they are old.... New ones look different but also the winding by the tuning post looks different than other Dean Markley
I used SR2000's in the 90's and early 2000's and the silk was yellow/gold like the picture so I assumed that Super Rounds used the same color.
They have been one the bass for a few owners.
They do.... Well did... I just don't have any old ones to confirm. New ones have no silk
No silk at all on the new SR2000's?
Slapinfunk, thread hijack. My son can't decide what to put on his new Epiphone Silverburst Thunderbird. Black Beauties or Silver Stars. The Silver Stars are more white looking right? Until the new Neon Whites come out it will be one or the other.
I was referring to the super Rounds sorry...
SR2000 silk is a little lighter than these I thought?
I was thinkin' DR flats. But you say they're rounds...
