A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of seeing the lovely ladies/one gentleman--of Secret Someones play in D.C. And while I was--for the most part--there to enjoy the music and whatnot, I couldn't help but notice the bass that was being played as well.

(I'm guilty of checking out people's bass gear at concerts, something that my friends often laugh at me for)

I wasn't close enough to the stage to read the brand accurately, and I can't seem to find any closer up pictures of it either. It sounded really good on stage, so I was wondering if anyone had any information about what it is.

    Here's a semi-decent picture of it:

    maxresdefault.

And here it is in action:

So, yeah, if anyone has any information about it that'd be great! Seems like a cool bass.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

I dig all of them, though the redhead is my favorite (personal preference).

    Thank you!

Whether it's a Univox or an Eastwood or whatever brand name it may sport, it is based on (if it isn't the "real deal") a Mosrite, no question.

That may well be the "Ventures model."

It's 100% Univox Hi Flyer. You can practically see the logo. Yes, the shape comes from Mosrite originally. Yes, Eastwood makes a Hi Flyer and the various Sidejacks. The lady up there is playing a Univox Hi Flyer.

Agree. Now that I look more closely at the headstock in the pic in the OP. Univox based on the original Mosrite design.

Someone near me has an Aria-branded version of the Mosrite on CL for two bills...

Wouldn't hurt to try it out and maybe talk 'em down a little if you like it. If you couldn't tell already I'm a big fan of the Mosrite shape regardless of the actual brand.
