Ideas on Best Set Up

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by GravitiesBass, May 3, 2006.

  1. Hello All,
I'm in the process of getting the ideal set up for my bands live shows and I'd like as much input as you all can give.

I have just purchased the ideal bass for myself (American Fender P-Bass) but I need an amp stack set up to maximize my sound (clean, punky bass ie The Pixies,Violent Femmes).

The biggest problem is budget. I'm looking around my area to trade in my Warwick Rock Bass and Kustome KBA65 amp to offset about 90% of the cost (ie..$900-1000) so I'd like to keep the ideas of this stack in the $1000-1200 range.

Any help would be great, and feel free to email me with suggestion.

How about an Avatar B410 Neo with an Ashdown ABM 500 Evo II.

Get a 4 ohm cab, and you have yourself a 575 watt 4x10 that weights in around 98 lbs, give or take whatever rack you put the head in.

    The best part, prices.

    Head: $899 @ MF
    Cab: $389 Factory Direct.

This way you can kep your rig possibly. :)
