hi fellas i inherited these speakers from a spansh mate of mine and apart from a marking saying 16 ohms theres no mor info on them. i have been told they may be BEYMER. anyone got any idea what thay might be as i need some info if i am to put a cab together for them. thanks in advance.
thanks wave rider, spelling never was my strong point. i checked out the site but these drivers are real old and i think time has taken any id marks from them. the only other thing was, they had a cream centre dome and there is a fine wire gauze in the hole in the centre of the magnet. for sure they are more than 20 years old and still function. cowabungaaaa
Hi. There should be a number stamped onto the inside of the cone, unless the speakers have been reconed with non-original recone kit at some point. That number should give You all the information you'll need. Regards Sam
thank you t bird ( sam). i will see if i can find any marks on them. they seem to be built to a very high standard so they could make a great sound, on the other hand they could be flappers. thanks again.
Hi. You're welcome. My (broken) 15K200 cone for example bears the number 127137. Beyma's are IMLE very good speakers, but a bit prone to the magnet detaching. At least the coaxials. Just a suggestion, but if and when You build an enclosure around them, do design it to accept some more easily obtainable driver like Eminence as well with just a slight modification of internal volume reduction or by adjusting the port length. Regards Sam
thanks for the advise t bird. it was at the back of my mind to make the cab convertable for that very reason. i took another quick scan at them this lunchtime but saw no numbers / codes but did see a small tear where the cone joins the frame, not concentric, about 1 inch long. its an easy fix. i will give them a good examination as soon as i get some time. thanks again.
