Anyone know what type of bass this is? It was used by Nick Fyffe of Jamiroqai. It's a 5 string. Maby a yamaha? Thanks
I saw Nick Fyffe in Belgium few months ago and he played a 4 string fender, and this white 5 string bass, don't know wich bass it is...
He took it to a shop for repairs, and it grew legs. It was on ebay for a while, and when his fans alerted the people that it was stolen, it was taken down. Noone knows who has it now.
It's not really the kind of bass you could "keep" if it was stolen, how are you meant to get away with playing that at a gig? He had some of his basses lsited on Warwickbass.net (the Warwick register). There was the "Fur" bass that we can see in this thread, his Blonde Streamer Stage one with blue LED's, and a Chrome Streamer (I think). I'm not a Zender fan by any means, but it msut suck to have your bass stolen Also, he uses a lot of basses, on the first Jamiroquai album he used Warwick, Fenders and Alembics, I'm not sure if he ever used Jazz basses live, but I think JK's new bassist does.
that aint Nick... paul turner plays MM stingrays, A Gorgeous F-bass and a white Jazz bass for the slapping in alrite!! he is a damm good player too!!
So Nick left too? And Turner is just on the new album? How is Turner? EDIT : Found interview here : http://www.jamirotalk.net/interviews/paul.html
I saw Paul Tunrener with Jamiroquai not long ago and met him after the show. He's a great guy and said that the '77 Jazz that he played occassionally through the show has an Alleva Coppolo preamp in it. I think he also had them (NY Guitar & Bass) refret the bass as well. It really sounded great - he is a seriously good player! --John
I still wish Stu never left, I know Paul is a great player but still, I think Stu was one of my favourite bassists ever. I love the bass too, shame it was stolen, I remember reading about that when it happpened. He did definatley own a Chrome Streamer, I've seen him use it before. Does anyone have any idea what Stu is up to these days, I'd imagine he wouldn't have too much difficulty finding work.
