So I've got a local craigslist seller nearby that has an interesting bass for sale, and I thought some of the gurus here might be able to help me ID it. He apparently has no idea of the details, but says the serial indicates it was made in 97-98. (He should send the serial soon) The pictures are terrible, so I'll upload better ones when he sends them, but until then here's the list of features I've observed. Neck: Rosewood board with dot inlays Headstock looks like an American Standard with "made in u.s.a." And "JAZZ BASS" block lettering. Body: 4 control knobs (3 normal, 1 small) Battery cover on back, probably active? Strings through body Jazz pickup config The color is an interesting transparent blue that looks to be sort of a solid blue burst at the edges. It looks similar to the transparent blue of this steinberger.http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass...xs-15fpa-custom-5-string-bass/519150000057000 The color is really whats throwing me, since I can't seem to find any examples of Fenders with that color. Obviously pictures will be very helpful, and I'll upload them as soon as I get some better ones from him. Any thoughts or ideas as to what model this is would be appreciated!
Nailed it! That is the exact color. The one I'm looking at is a plain white pickguard, but same color. It's a 22 fret, I believe.
