Astounding. Doesn't the NFL have an orientation program to try to help players avoid this stuff? I'm not even going to get into the "twelve kids" thing.
Antonio Cromartie is really good at putting his weiner into things, so stuffing it in a condom should be right up his alley.:scowl:
You mean Antonio Cromartie. Warren Cromartie was an outfielder with the Montreal Expos back in the late 70s.
And in ten or so years he'll have a practice squad for the off season. My feeling about these kind of boys, and no Cromartie is not a man, is that after a certain point (having kids with no intention of being any kind of father) should be a criminal offense. Personally, after your second kid without any seriousness about starting a family, I would have no trouble with forced sterilization. I don't care how much money you have. This use to be shameful behavior, now its routine and almost celebrated. When a community is having 70% of its births out of wedlock, that community is on the path to self destruction. There should be criminal consequences for that kind of wanton destructive behavior from the boys in the community. And for the record their should also be no reward for the women. This idea that if I have a kid I'm going to get a check either from the government or some sports star I seduced is not motherhood. To those kids she is being some other kind of mother. And again after a couple of "mistakes" all incentive including the kids should be removed from the crib (it isn't a home). Put the kids up for adoption and let the star athlete send his checks to the adoption family. Its time as a a society we quit rewarding this totally destructive behavior with our legal system.
I think government sterilization is a bridge too far. The legal system has Cromartie over a barrel already. As a society, we have to get some values into kids heads before they become morally brain dead.
In other news: Deion Sanders estranged wife seeks $200 million in slander suit against him and his daughter for tweeting that she is a "gold digger". I just don't know what to do with that, but I thought it needed to be shared.
Perhaps, but we're not talking about 2-3 "mistakes" or birth control failures. We're talking about intentional behavior that results in twelve kids entering this world as the result of a father who has no intention of taking care of them, despite the fact he has the means. That is an immense burden on society. When ten of these twelve wind up in jail or receiving public assistance does forced sterilization still sound like a stiff penalty? At the very least, he should be doing jail time in the off-season, and when he retires. Having kids with no intention of being a parent repeatedly is as criminal as just about any material crime I can think of.
Cromartie will likely end up in jail when he retires because he won't be able to make his payments at the rate he is paying them now.
I agree 100%. There is nothing "holy" about the "right" to procreate. We are supposed to be rational beings and capable of making responsible decisions instead of acting like rats spewing out and abandoning litter after litter. And yes, I will be judgmental and yes, I'll play the part of "God" in saying so. I think the abject misery to innocents should be enough to make my point. Obviously, it, sadly, is not.
Full-on ZPG'er here. Overpopulation is the base cause for about 99% of all the problems in the world.
I am. I have no kids, no desire to create or purchase any, and I know I would be a rotten parent. A few years ago, I got my insurance to pay a doctor to board up the fetal factory. Best thing I ever did. I used to get really upset when I read about people who cranked out a dozen copies of themselves, and while I'm still not thrilled about it now, I have come to the conclusion that there's not much I can do about it. Nothing is going to change as long as society continues to treat reproduction as an absolute right while leaving responsibility optional. Then there's the issue of contraception access, but that's a whole other can of worms.
I used to be, but now I feel inclined to have a kid. Just the one will suffice. To do my bidding. And for me to impart with wisdom. I will not replicate, however, until I find a matching set of genes worthy of reproducing with.
