More likely a retirement gift for Boeing employees. Like a lot of special runs, basically a marketing gimmick.

Basically this. I've seen a bunch of epiphone guitars with Molson logos printed onto them. They're pretty cool I guess, but I can dig the aircraft metal pickguard - I mean, why not?

I figure the price tag means they're either really marking up an mia fender, or it's custom shop - and maybe marking it up a lot, too.

 

Too late to edit, but Molson was a Canadian beer maker, who then merged with MillerCoors to become Molson-Coors in Canada. For those who might not know.

 

Huh, that's funny, I remember it differently. More like "Molson was a Canadian beer maker who completely sold out ruining everything and was never mentioned again".

It's like how many different ways are there to make a hamburger? About the same for making a Fender.
