If I get a sunburst Fender Precision with tort and flats...

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by GlennRH, Jul 12, 2020.

  1. If I get a sunburst Fender Precision with tort and flats, and I take it everywhere I play, alternating it with a sunburst Fender Precision with tort and rounds...
    • Will every member of the band show up on time and in tune, ready to play?
    • Will people get onto the dance floor sooner at gigs?
    • Will more people stay on the dance floor for a moment when the band breaks for a few seconds between tunes?
    • Will bar managers pay us the promised amount without having to be chased down and asked to pay?
    • Will the singers always remember the words that come next?
    • Will prima donna guitarists have more tolerance for the mere presence of the bass in the mix?
    • Will every member of the band contribute appropriately to breakdown and loading gear into vehicles after shows?
    • Will taxi drivers demonstrate more patience about the things I need to do and the the brief conversations I need to have before we drive off?
    • Will we get a frequent-booker discount at good rehearsal spaces?
    • Will more of the pretty ones smile at me?
    Just asking.

    Better question...

Can you pass an audition when the BL hands you a P-flats-tort and says..."play this instead, let's hear how you sound"?

In answer to all the questions...possibly not.
But you've fulfilled your part of the deal, and everything else is on others.

If and only if the sunburst P with tort basses were made before January 4, 1965.

  9. I can only speak from experience, once I got a Lakland Duck Dunn with flats...I can play as busy as I want and everyone loves it where before they said I was “too busy”....go figure.

Well, I can say that none of these things happened to me until last week, when I got my first P bass. Coincidence?

I don’t mean to sound abrupt, rude, condescending or ironic, but

(Disclaimer: I don’t own a PBass, no tort - no pick-guard at all but I’ve never worn heels in my life.)

Of course. Plus, the stars will align and peace and happiness will simultaneously break out around the world.

  15. It should be.
  16. If you have a p bass with Tort and flats then you also need an ash bodied 70's Jazz bass with bright stainless rounds. This is called the Yin Yang

Why do you need a P-Bass with rounds? Are you hoarding gear? :roflmao:

Smile? You won't be able to keep them from touching your tort.
