If I leave the cord plugged on my active bass and just pull the passive switch?

    If I leave the cord plugged on my active bass and just pull the passive switch?

    consume battery yes or no?

    Yes. The plug into the jack is what brings the battery into circuit.

    No escaping it. The jack is stereo where the prong for the other "speaker" completes the circuit from battery to preamp.

    Why leave it plugged in? If you're anything like me, you'll get your foot caught in the cable and accidentally pull the bass down along with the stand...:eek:

    This^..why I got rid of the ol' active..constant in and out (of the plug guys, the plug..) wore the input out and it started to break-up, hiss, sound bad. Didn't help I always use $5 cables. But the constant wear and tear ain't worth it to me.
     
  6. Yes, it will drain current from battery.

    For this reason, in my active basses i have an on-off switch which disconnects the battery .... ;)

    Not only will it drain the battery, but it will cause a rip in the space-time continuum. Do you really want that on your conscience?

    When that happens you have to bass-solo Cthulhu back to sleep and then the stars will be right again. :D
