If it looks good and natural, technique is good.

    A point of discussion ;)

    From a player point of view: if you see a guy playing 'naturally and making fluent movements' then his technique is generally well. If it looks a little unnatural movement (almost spasm including) and painfull, then it's not. Even if you don't know the instrument or the sports!

    (It's not a point only for bassplayers)

    Think about it!

    John Patitucci often looks like he's being introduced to the finer points of prison life when he's soloing, but I doubt Chick Corea asks him to ;)
