Just sharing this terrific album from one of my idols, Dan Swanö! He described the album in his own words: "If Rush played death metal in the 70's."

Fates Warning also have a heavier Rush feel. Worth checking out.

Don't hate their stuff, I just cringe when I hear the guys voice. I don't know why.

  5. Damn. They're tight. But poopie, them vocals gotta go. Skill-wise, a lot of those bands smoke when it comes to tight musicianship. I guess I was born 15-20 years too early. But, I could listen to the music all damn day. Great arrangements. The music is somethin' I'd enjoy playing.

Dan Swanö's voice is killer! But I understand some people can't wrap their heads around the growling.
  7. As someone who'd always wished for more Edge of Sanity, I just jizzed in my pants when I played this.

I'm gonna actually go hunt his newer stuff, I didn't realize he had other awesome bands.

Witherscape is pretty cool. Can't say I love his cleans on it though.

so, yeah, just like Rush. I often wish it were easier to find good bands. Musical inspiration is really lacking lately.
