Which company would be, what pedals and why? Multi-fx included Id probably go boss since im kind of in love with my ME50B
This kind of thread actually pops up pretty often... but it'd be hypocritical of me not to respond since I do it too. I'd say... Either Lovetone or Boss. Eventide would be a safe bet, too.
Have to be EHX. Assuming I can also get a backup of everything, and I can get free replacements when they fail.
Maxon, hands down. They have the best balance of variety and quality of any brand out there. There are certainly many other brands that make more exciting or unique or covetable pedals, but those brands typically only have a small number of pedals, and are usually just dirt variations. Or in the case of EHX, they have a huge unique variety but they all have so many flaws that they're not worth it to me. And there may be some boutique builders with higher quality standards, but I would even say the large majority of handmade pedals are not in fact better quality than the upper end of Maxons.
schumann. i've never even played one of his beloved pedals!!!! i have only seen one of his pedals and that was when the locust came to town and i saw JP's schumann pll. i want all of his creations. if they suck (which they don't.....) i would just sell them to some elitist collector. but yea out of the brands i have played....i would say EHX.
I used to own 6 Lovetone pedals. I got them brand new when prices were relatively low, then they tripled in value. I was forced to sell them (at a hefty profit), due to a mistake on my employer's part which resulted in me oweing the U.S. Treasury over $4000... I'd love to have my Lovetones back, but now I can't justify their prices.
Didn't we just do this? I find EBS stuff a bit too hi-fi for me and their modulation isn't the best, but they make solid stuff. Lovetone would be a good one. And a pedalboard full of Guyatone minis would be cool. Maybe with one biggie like the VTX or the Ultron. But if BJFE and Mad Professor count as one company (same designer after all) I'd go that route. Otherwise I'm with Bongo, I'd take Maxon
ToneCzar. Dove> Openhaus> Halophaze> Custom Super Reverb I'd have Ed make> EchoCzar. This of course would leave out the Whammy as I don't see Ed being able to clone one. Would a ToneCzar modded Whammy count?
