For me it would have to be Peter "Mars" Cowling (Pat Travers Band).
He blended funk,blues and rock all in one tune!
Plus, I also loved the way he held his bass like a violin!

Yup, all mine are gone, sadly.I ought to have said "living or dead" in the post.
So, my "best case scenario" teacher is one who actually loves teaching, is trained (similar to music, theres some serious value in really learning the theories, techniques, repertoire, etc), and also has experience as a legitimate professional (paid) musician.
