If you have a Mesa 400+ that has outlets for 2, 4, & 8 ohm cabs?

    How do you safely connect a 4 ohm and an 8
    ohm cab?

    Plug 'em both into the 2 ohm jacks. Did you get a manual? If not, you can download one on the mesa site. The rule with a 400+ is: look at your total load and then use the appropriate jacks. In other words, if you ran two 8's, you'd jack into the 4's, etc.
     
  3. yup, stick them in the 2 ohm jacks. The 4 ohm will get more juice but if you had say, a 8 ohm 2x10 and a 4 ohm 2x15, maybe you'd want the higher-frequency cab to be quieter any way. Worked for me. Nice way to balance things out if you're running mono.
