If you were going to buy a cheap knock off , what would it be a copy of?

Lots of P and J's out there. What would YOU want?

    I';d like a OLP Spector 4 string :D

It also looks similiar to the Warwick rockbass
  3. A Conklin Hollowbody 9? :)

But I doubt a cheap knockoff would be anything close to satisfactory.
  4. Fender MIA J is a cheap knockoff of a sadowsky right? :bag:

I would probably get one of those SX Jazz basses.

I like my Brice Violin bass (beatle/hofner copy)

it served us quite well on a radio broadcast last weekend.

I'm sure people would like to see cheap Rics, Gibsons, etc.

A Rick, or a Beatle bass. I'm not a huge McCartney fan at all, btw...they're just incredibly attractive, expensive instruments.

I'd go for an OLP stingray knockoff and drop in a seymour duncan.

I have a cheap SX Precision bass knock off with a replacement neck. Great sound. Great sound. I think there is a high fret or two way up high (fret 17 or so), but besides that , it plays nicely.
This is probably my favorite type of knock off, i like the P bass tone a lot , for dub music and stuff.

If i could have a knock off of any bass, regardless or not if one exists at the moment, id say id want a rick knock off. Maybe one of the Ibanez law suit ones if they count. I like the Rick sound, but it isnt my cup of tea for 100% of the music i play so i couldnt see myself buying a real Rick, but if i had the tone of a Rick in something cheaper, thatd be nice.

I'd like a Essex copy of a '75 jazz in natural ash and a '57 p-bass copy in blonde. I'd buy'em right now if they were available.

Rondo had the '75 jazz copy that you speak of available for a while, but they were limited. You can maybe come across a used one sometime.

now I havn't seen anything like it, but a spector Euro 5 string (but you know, cheeper) would be very nice to me.

I think thats basically what lower series Spectors are closest too. heh its hard to make a cheap version of a Euro Spector, because the materials used and the quality of the woods and such are expensive. I think the Spector Legends are really nice though for the price. I <3 my Spector Q5 as well, i just wish it had a carved top like the Legends do.
