Yup. It's my birthday. the only thing that makes me glad is that it's on a Saturday so I (and many of you) don't have to go to work. Unlike some people who at age 28 feel they're ready for the glue factory, I just have a couple achy knees to worry about. Everything is still working like I recall it should, unless my memory started to fail too.

To all of you born before me, what was your thirtieth birthday like? Any thoughts? Is this a milestone? Well wishing is also appreciated. Money also gladly accepted.:D

It ain't all that bad. My 30th was a couple of years ago, I don't really remember much about it, I think it's kinda better that way. Go out and buy yourself some piece of gear that you don't need and call it a present to yourself.

    Happy Birthday,

    Chris A.

I got myself Joni Mitchell's Shadows and Light DVD. Grat shpw with Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays and Jaco on bass. Haven't watched the whole thing, but it's nice to see some live Jaco.

  6. Happy Birthday brother !

Being 30 was fine if I remember correctly, it was 8 years ago for me.

I didn't dread my 30th but was told by several people younger and older than me that I should really hang up the Bass and Band work and start to act my age. I don't have those friends anymore - thank God. :)

Treat yourself to a new Bass.

  7. Happy Birthday Will! hehe

    My 30th b-day... hmm... I'll tell you in 13 1/2 years! :D (I'll be 17 sept 6)

As I recall my 30th was a bit more ominous then the others but not too much drama.

Kewl that you don`t have to work! :)

You know what 30 was to me?

When my metabolism hit a brick wall! :D And before some of you who know me chime in, gaining 30 pounds in 2 years is a lot, no matter how much like a concentration camp victim I looked before!

    Happy Birthday, bud.
  11. I can't remember what my 30th was like. It was soooooooo long ago! Heck, I can't remember what my 44th was like, and that was last month! This is what you can look forward to ;)

PS - The check's in the mail. :D

    Happy Birthday We'll See :p . Let's see, 30,30,30...I'd been
married for four years. Yeah, THAT story's been done to death :( .

What is it with folks and round numbers?...10,20, 30, etc.
I guess it's a milestone thing. I like to be an oddball  and
    try to figure if my b-day's a prime number - 29, 31, 37...
Helps keep your gray matter percolatin' :D .

Happy birthday man! Glad to know I'm not the only one in that age
range. I started playing bass at 33 so everything before that is kinda
fuzzy. I never really knew what life meant until I felt those strings
under my fingers. Now it all makes sense.

    Hi there,
No 30 is not the time to retire, it's the time to explode! I'm 31 now and turning 30 was cool for me. If you're not married, it's esier to get good-looking young women 19-25 at 30 than 20, for sure and your performance should be way better, anyway, Welcome in the "old men" culb!

Happy birthday Will! Interestingly enough, you also share your birthday with Grooveguru, EmuKing, and BelladonicHaze. Isn't the calendar a great feature? :D
