I'm Back!!!

  1. Hey,sorry I haven't participated in soooooooo long.Been working two jobs and have had little time for anything else. All I've done is work and sleep. Some where along the way I did manage to get in some band and individual practice.Me and my singer/guitarist are finally working on songs. Also,I've bought a new car(got a serious loan) and a Modulus vintage j bass .So,I've been pretty busy and somewhat productive in my absense from TB.It's great to be BACK!!!! I'm sure I've missed alot of great discussions and I'm probably not up to speed on alot of topics,so bear with me if I ask some redundant questions in the near future.

Welcome back, Willie.:) Congrats on the new car and the Modulus. How do you like the Mod?

  6. Cool!! Big Willie's back!!

When are you gonna start suportin'?:D

    Rock on

Thanks for the replies everyone!I'm not gigging yet,but might be in the next couple of months. As far as the Modulus goes...it's a great sibling for the Roscoe. While the LG 3000 is warm round and punchy, the Mod VJ cuts through the mix. Both basses have distinct wonderful tones,I can't complain.
On another note(pun intended)The car I got is a 2001 Chrysler Sebring 4-door silver sedan.Got to have the doors to put my gear in it!!! A convertible would've looked rock star cool, but would be quite useless since there is no real room in the back seat(for the gear) and some yahoo could easily cut open the roof and steal all my beloved toys.Anyways got to go,suppose to be studying for my CDL.Talk to y'all soon.

    Hey JT,love your signature!!!
Embellisher, keep playing with a skillful noise!!!
Eric,I will send in my donation this week, thanks for the reminder.
What's up Acacia and Mike?Good to hear from the gang.

    Willie-
I gotta see that Modulus Jazz bass!
I played one somewhere(?) & really liked it...
    Where'd ya buy it?

  12. To Mike:Yup,commercial driver's license it is(thanks comak.)The rig I drive is actually a van for mentally/physically handicapped people. If I want to drive certain vehicles with certain ratings, loads, occupancy,I have to be certified. It does sound like I'm going to drive a semi, but not just yet. But,I'd still want to get together anyways(I'm still waiting on the Va TB gathering.)Maybe someday I'll get see some of the people on TB.
Hey Jim K,I got the Modulus from Mars Music.IT had been sitting there for about a year and I finally got tired of looking at it so one day after church I just up and bought the thang.I actually have some night(s) off ,so we might be able to get together.Definitely looking forward to that.Just let me know.Sunday and Monday are band practice nights so any Sunday after Nov.2 would be great.
    Ciao!!!

    Willie-
...if that bass is sunburst, guess what? I musta sat there & played it in-store more than a few times. In fact, I was really thinking about it...I do recall it felt great & sounded classic, yet also "modern".
I bet it felt 'broken-in' when you bought it, huh?
    ...no charge, man! :D

    I snoozed & lose'd(?) ;)

    Welcome back Willie!!
I also have been non-participatory for a while. Just too much stuff goin on. It's good to be back. I'll have to take care of that "upgrade available" thingy under my user name.

  16. Hey Player ,it's good to be back and to have you back as well.I can understand being very busy.I finally sent in my "support" today via snail mail.
Jim K,it is the same exact sunburst beauty we're talking about. It does feel broken in.Every time I'd go in to Mars I'd have to play that particular bass, couldn't keep my hands of it.This time,I just had to have it,sorry.

  17. Hey Freak, didn't mean to leave you out!! Hi and what's up???!!!

  18. Hey Willie Dizon!!! Welcome back! :)

"Pardon me,but would you happen to have a bit of Grey Poupon?"

Ah, great! A man with experience we can use. When we have a national TB gathering we can have you pickup the elder gentlemen at TB... Say the 31+ year old fellas (you know, the really OLD ones). You can help them in and fold their walkers for them and stuff.

Watch out for the cantankerous ones like JT. He's only 33 and not used to being a fogie yet. ;)

    :D hehe
