I mentioned in another thread that I was thinking of buying the American Standard P-bass to match my American Standard Jazz. Same series, same finish. I played it for a long time today and with different strings, it will work nicely.

The shop had it tagged at $829.00 without a case. They offered it to me for $750.00 with a Fender Deluxe shaped case.

I hope to have it by next weekend.

I'm thinking of putting the BA2 bridges on both of them.

This is the finish. Blonde with Ash wood grain bleeding thru.

Cool, Sean. Post some pics when you get it.

  3. I have the MIA P-Bass ('97 model) and I love it, it has unmistakeable tone and is very comforatble for me to play. Luckily, I got it used (and abused) for $300 w/case and like I said earlier, I love it. Mine is the alder bodied version though. I did replace the pickguard though, just so it would look cooler. Good luck!

Very nice J bass, I have one just like it. I put a tortoise guard on it to dress it up a bit.

FYI, the BadAss II bridge with it's 5 screw mounting is not a direct replacement for the Fender AS bridge which has a 3 screw mount (screws in different places than the BAII except for the middle one).
