I have bad news.
The 80s are over.
i dont mind. coz im palying the 80's song. X song to be exact. i dont touch current "crap" music.
Holy hair metal Batman!
so is it a good choice? what si the pickup?
+1... And the name.. Killer?
Wear eye protection.
Cannot find server...
I remember that the guitarist of Loudness used to endorse them, that's all.
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but everyone recognizes ugly when they see it.
Having said that, my mother always told me that if I don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all, so...
Yeah.. and a cup...
Ok, there it is....
This one looks nice:
But I say go for it. It's all about how it it plays and sounds, right? Who cares what anyone else thinks about how it looks? You probably wouldn't like how my basses look.
But have you played one?
i didnt ask abt it look. i ask abt the pickup adn the body etc etc.
get your guitarist a warlock, your singer some leather pants and a perm and your good to go! i don't like it, but don't worry about what i like, if your into it, get it!
Ok, well, going on that, it's pretty bas(s)ic stuff. Basswood is generally reserved for lower priced basses and guitars as it's plentiful and give a decent, run of the mill tone.. the neck is maple, no shocker there....and the pickups are their house brand. I couldn't tell ya how they sound, could be 10 dollar mighty mites, who knows? It'll get the job done I'm sure. Just go into it with the knowledge that at best you'll get a servicable tone, but you may be pleasantly surprised.
Whether the 80's are over or not, give the kid a break. It's what he likes.
Considering all the crap flung around regarding Bongos, you are the last person I'd expect to spew out negative crap about the looks of any bass.
You should really know better dude.
Yeah, you are right. My son likes guitars and basses like that too and I give him a hard time about it, when I really shouldn't. He's ten years old and into that, so more power to him if that's what he likes.
Exactly what I was thinking ....and "pointy", "sharp" - were probably the "nicest" things going through my head!!
EDIT : maybe I should have revised that last comment to "at least it doesn't look like a toilet seat!! "
My Bongo's body is made of basswood, and I don't see this as a detraction from playability or a negative acoustically. If the bass was made from plywood, that would be a different story.
