Know what I do to be different? No tats, no pirecings, no nothing. I never will understand why people do the same as everyone else in order to be "different".
  3. ....and this has what to do with music? ;) (Wrong forum.)

Anyways, I wouldn't dye my hair, dyeing it too much will damage it, and then you'll regret it when your are 50 and your hair is falling out.

Yeah...I have to agree with Tim Cole here. I dyed my hair all sorts of odd colors back in the day (late 90's) when it was "uncool" even for the "outcast" sort of people to do it, especially in the Bible Belt. Now kids are doing it a dime a dozen...I think it's pretty poserish to do it at all. You know something's unoriginal when you can walk down the street without passersby batting an eye. Not to mention that your parents won't let you. I've derived from your post that you're not older than 15 (If I'm wrong, I'll be pretty surprised). Right now, they're footing your bills. Hell, more than likely it'll be their money that'll buy that hair dye. Grow up and try doing something uncliched instead

I gotta agree with the other dudes on this one.

Its just all been done so much that its just stupid at this point.

Everyone has tattoos, everyone is getting piercings, and everyone is dying their hair.

That being said, I got my first tattoo about a month ago, have been considering the pink hair thing for years, and will most likely be getting a nose ring or a bar through my ear sometime soon.

Manic Panic makes a good hair dye. http://www.garment-district.com/store/manic/

As far as what everyone else said about piercings and tattoos, If you want them, get them! Who cares if everybody has them. Express yourself in whatever way you feel is necessary. Drive a nail through your forehead if you want to. Who cares, its your body, do what you want to it!

Mr. Zebraface is right, you put this in the wrong forum. It belongs in OT. I'm sure it will be moved soon enough.

have fun. dye your hair pink, then purple, chop it up, shave it, grow a weird beard (if you can), shave your eyebrows, wear clothes nobody else ever would - do whatever floats your boat. it's fun, it adds a little spark to life, it's a refreshing feeling. i'm kinda surprised that so many people have responded with "don't do it."

tatoos are permanent so if you want to do that i'd suggest waiting a year and seeing if you feel the same. peircing can disfigure you for life so it'd probably be a good idea to wait on them too. i like the year test thing concerning all that. people don't realize how dated those things can make someone look. 20 yrs from now tribal tatoos are gonna look as lame as the christheads people round my parts got 20 yrs ago. i liked tribal armbands when i first saw them and almost got one. i now THANK GOD i didn't cuz i think they look kinda lame after half the poulation got one.

i'm not a big madonna fan, but i think she's an incredibly intelliegient person (go ahead, flame me on that) and i heard her say once that she want's to always recreate herself because it brings out different sides of her. she also said she gets bored looking the same all the time. me too. i change things lots.

to answer your question now... manic panic and all those types of dye wash out in about 5 weeks. if they don't you can either re-dye your hair it's original color, or wash it with dishwashing detergeant a handful of times. i'm a teacher and i always do freaky things with my hair over the summer. almost went back to work with pink hair this year cuz i didn't want to redye it. started a thread about it here and got some useful information.

last notes - colors work best if you bleach your hair first as light as possible. bleaching it does damage the hair that's already on your head but the new hair that's always grown back on my head has consistently been healthy. i think it's bull that it does any permanent damage to your hair or that you'll go bald or something. i could be wrong though. just my experience.
  8. finnally, people that agree with me. i dont care how lame it'll look in 5 years, or whatever, because it will be how i am.

no one is telling you not to be who you are..

a smart person learns from their mistakes
a wise person learns from the mistakes of others

they gave me a choice... shave my head or find another place to leave

i was bald the next day..

I have 12 tattoos and I completely resent that statement. I choose to tattoo my body out of love of art and because I've wanted them since I was about 4 years old. Although in this particular thread,I can see why you would state this. -Luke

yeah art  im sure you have 12 picasso's tattoed on your body. for the little girlbe more original dying your hair has been done and your only doing it for attention. so once the "Shock" value goes away your going to get sick of it. well atleast it would be better than getting a tattoo and getting sick of it.

The horror stories of people totally regretting their tats are fairly rare from what I've heard. And Picasso doesn't define art. I highly doubt, also, that VS over there got his tats to shock anyone.

Oh and Tim: Everything has been done, dying your hair pink is unoriginal, but so is wearing pants. I'm gonna be hella punk and stop wearing pants. Basically, the only true way to be original is to be yourself. And I'm sure there are still things about ones self that will cause them to be an unoriginal poser. Image is everything thirst is nothing.

The only ones I hear are the impluse ones. The ones that are picked out that day or that week, and get done the day they turn 18, instead of doing something healthy, like buy a lottery ticket, or pornography.

I haven't seen many stories about people completely unhappy with their tatts that have planned them out for months or years in advance.

The unhappy ones are the ones that pick trendy tattoos done poorly by local hacks who probably aren't even liscened by the state health board.

Where is the middle finger smiley? Any tattoo is art. Done by oh,what's that, tattoo "artists". The "artist" that does my work specializes in Demographic Illustrations. He can take any picture you give him and convert it to a tattoo. Please grow up (ChildoftheKorn). -Luke

Not to mention my mother has been an artist for over 35 years and she will be designing some of my tattoos. But wait, that's not art either,is it?
