Question for car buffs: When you say "Ford 9 inch rear" what exactly is the "rear" you are referring to?

The rear axle. Ford builds it, and 9" refers to the diameter of the ring gear.

Other popular axles for racing would be the Chevy 12 bolt and the Dana 60.

I go 6.50@105 in the eighth.

There are steel bumpers underneath the plastic.

How much does your car weigh, Steve?

  14. When I was in my car phase, I had a 85 Buick Ttype. Big front mount IC, greenies for injectors, K&N, adjustable regulator, new pump, "Club" camshaft, etc.

Definetly not a race car. Street tires, etc. 3.42 gears. These cars (Turbo regals) were known as easy 12's. I don't know how quick it was, but would line up against the 4th Gen Fbodies and give em something to think about. Way quicker than the current ride (Mark VIII).

But now it's all about motorcycles. I'll take 380lbs and 60 rwhp any day.

Man, that's hot. I think I would give up my right pinky for a Grand National.

Awesome. I want to get some glasspacks, headers, a super charger and maybe a 4 barrel carb. for my towncar. Im serious.

    Or option 2:

My friend has a 97 Northstar engine that we may retrofit to my car and add glass packs too.

Either way, it wouldn't be the fastest car on the road, but it sure would sound and run really nice.

Ill do option number one when i get my '98 towncar.:D

i would go with baffle mufflers..just the glass pack will blow out....and it isn't best performance wise..

there is alot of options..go to jegs.com
    or summitracing.com and look around
