hey ive been playing for a few months, and im gonna start a punk band but i wanna create intermediate-hard bass lines.ya know kinda like jazz-blues lines but faster, and more complicated, but im having trouble making them up.any tips?
Pentatonic scale.I know it's considered the blues scale, but its great for runs, especially in fast melodic punk.Pull-offs to an open string whenever possible is always big aka... Fear and greenday. ______________________ jim obrien http://www.illustriousday.com
Learn your natural major scale first, along with the natural minor, then consider the pentatonic major/minor. Also, the natural major and minor are quite large, and the essential building block for any other scale, pretty much. Not to be cocky, but learning tab lets you learn what other people wrote. It doesn't let you learn how to create stuff of your own. Playing by ear can be ok, but unless you're playing roots, or "a natural," it's not going to cut it.
