    Hi kph,
The two that I know of in your area would be L.A. Bass Works ((323) 953-5122) and Ozzie's Music ((858) 578-4521).
    Good luck!
    John

I recently bought my bass in LA. LA Bass Works one that I tried (Lisa has great basses!). But, here are a few more places I looked:

World of Strings in Long Beach (562)599-3613

Thomas Metzler Violin Shop in Glendale (818)246-0278

Stein on Vine in Hollywood (323)467-7341

    and

Lemur Music in San Juan Capistrano (949) 493-8323
    (I didn't look here).
