    What's your definition of "affordable"?

I am picking up one of those power amps tomorrow. I plan on using it with a Sansamp Para Driver that I ordered today.

I needed a rig that would pull double-duty for bass guitar (rock n roll band) and loud upright bass (rockabilly band).

I am excited to see how it works out.

I am also interested in the Fender TBP-1, but man it's $700  so I may just be dreaming. :(

If I like the Para Driver I might spring for the Sansamp RPM rackmount pre later on.

The VT Bass is next on my list for using with my bass guitar only. Mmmmm......... fliptoppyness.........

  5. one of the Sansamp pre's would be fine. The BBE solid state tends to be the cheapest of the rackmount pre's. If you're looking for a preamp pedal there is the various sansamp options, the Aguilar tone hammer, the tonebone bassbone, seymour duncan paranormal pedal, the sadowsky or the overpriced EBS pedal.

Welcome James & +1 on the BMAX. That's a whole lot of good for 200 clams.
