I got into an accident with a belt sander yesterday at work. I was pushing a piece of wood i was sanding too hard against the belt and it slipped out and i pushed my hand extremley hard against the rotating belt I ended up taking off 5 or 6 layers of skin on all the knuckles on my left hand and a few layers on my thumb and index finger on the lefty aswell. I tried to play last night and it was to no avail. Looks like a let it heal for a few weeks and re build the callouses ive made over the last 4 and-a-bit years So all you trolls trying to spam in the amps forum, watch out. Just coz im crippled doesnt mean i cant kick troll bootay...
wow, that sucks. however, i think im going to have to take some time off too.. Tendonitus is coming back full force.. hurts to type again.. hope you get better soon!
That sux man, I remember when I broke my middle finger and couldnt do anything and also that time I broke my wrist and couldnt do anything (all in about 6 months ) ~ Tyler P.S. Get well soon
ooh...i know the feeling man; i did a bit of power sander work recently, and i got my share of road-rash type injuries.
damn that sucks! i hope you get better soon! i couldnt play the past few day either, i got an infected in left arm (virus travelled up a few nerves) the swelling it now but the arm is bruised.. i still shouldnt be playing. also some skin got scraped off the back on my right hand (4 layers, i counted ) about a month ago. it took about 2 weeks to close up and 4 weeks to fully heal.
Dude never argue with power tools because they always win. All you future cab builders out there take note. How's the injuries comming along?
sounds like fun but i dont think that comes to be as bad as my face..... last week i was riding full speed on my way home. (my wheel came loose at the park) so i just did a regualar gap on my way home and bam my front wheel falls off sending me onto my face at full speed bashing my forhead on the concrete and bashing my nose like hard and then scraping my upper lip took a chunk of tissue out of my bottom lip (on the inside so i couldn't eat anything salty. in fact it hurt to eat period.) gashing my elbow and severly jammed my finger. but i think by doing this i fixed my deviated symtom! hell cheaper than surgery. for all of you that have a deviated symptom dont get surygery i know tons of people that had it and it didn't help them.. but if you want to go for it. anyway my face was all swollen and my forhead was huge and my face was cut up and i couldn't bend my left arm for a week because of the huge scab that would crack open if i moved it so i couldn't play any thing above the 8th fret. anyway i hope you feel better. my sinuses sure do
Ouch... that had to hurt. I did something like that last year, hurt like a mother. From what you described, I thought your hand was gonna be torn to shreds or somethin
Yeah i know after i did the injury i put on the gloves and then kept working on the sander. By the time i had finished on there the tips of the gloves had gone
Personally I feel that gloves are more dangerous than bare hands. They are kinda bulky, and you are not as aware of where they stop. It is a lot easier to get them caught in a machine and ge pulled in then to get caght when you know where your hand ends. IMHO
Some things that need clearing up here Phil.... When did you get a job? Or more to the point who would hire you! lol What were you making that required such bulky sanding? Why couldnt you cut it to size then lightly sand by hand? Ahh just joshin. I scraped my knuckles today renovating. Its all good. I kept working. I am not a wimp! okay so i wept like a little girl for an hour then packed up. Merls
