Some pics of my cheap & funny Whamola. :p :hyper:
Made it in a half day with a friend of mine (approx 3,5 hours)
without a clear project and using everything we could find in my friend's house to the needs, old guitar & bass parts, wood etc...
the string is from an upright.
    Talking 'bout the look...ok...it sucks....
    but....hey man...i's got everything I need:
IT'S FUNNY!!! :p (and it sound really good and powerful)

    a cool touch
 padouk fretboard ;)

Nice. The tuner is cool the way it looks with just one tuner.

    That's cool

One question, does the handle move like a whamola does? How would you whamola the string?

Yes the handle move in the right way (naturally the amount of movement depends on the tension you give to the string with the tuner)
I play it with a drum stick but I can also put the handle under my shoulder and use the two hands to play like an upright and move the handle at the same time.

    Sorry, what you mean?

I'd buy that before I'd buy a Wish.
  6. i'll give you a 10 for your rigging abilities. i love the electrical tape on the handle. i personally would've used duct tape, but thats me. i think more people should build their instruments, but hey its easier to buy one right?
:bassist: that thing has to rock!
  7. Awesome.
That thing is really jazzin rocking!

it's really simple, and can be made in a thousand different ways!
Looking to this one, a friend of mine is building (It's not completed yet) his own with aluminium (he has the opportunity to access to some really helpful things where he works)and more finiture, a beautiful one really really cool.
    I'll post some pics soon!

    approximated cost of mine: 10$

If you don't know, I built (well I ASSEMBLED) my bass by myself,( I know I wrote it 100 times but is cause I'm proud of it) :p
tryng to put in one bass all the things that I like(and more changes are coming...).SO I REPEAT: DO IT BY YOURSELF!!!
a good way to encrease self satisfaction :p

Micolao, I'm dissapointed ... you spilled the beans too early... look at this guy who claims he prototyped it during his lunch hour, and you can have it for only ... uh ... $300,000 (why didn't I think of that? Duh.)

    Top Secret Invention!!

Sounds to me like that auction is for a piece of sheet metal engraved with the words, 'practise, stupid'.
