Does anyone have a suggestion for my new avatar??? I will consider anything. If you have something lying around post it here and it may become my new avatar (as long as you allow it).

How does one make a picture smaller to fit the 75x75 format?

photoshop or any decent image editing software.

mspaint will do it too if you're handy with that stuff.

    Odie,
take your image and open it in whatever you want...like Word or something. Copy it (Ctrl C)...then open Paint, paste it on the blank. Now go to the "Image" menu and open up the "Stretch/Skew" and adjust the %s until you get it smaller--like try 25%. Then in the same menu, open up "Attributes" and check the size. Adjust using the "S/Skew" until you get it to 75 x 75 size in the Attributes.

This how i found it work best. Of course, Nate is the master...so he can probably do it quicker/cleaner, but that's what i know.

note: if you try to adjust the pic using the attributes it will cut the picture rather than adjust it to a smaller size. (at least when I did it)

** BTW--PICK, I didn't mean to "hi-jack" your thread here--just trying to help Odie and his Avatar woes. Keep the bass--it's cool looking (IMO)

TxBass hit the nail on the head. That's the only way I know how to do it in MSPaint. Not very intuitive, but it works.

You can also just "select" the image and then move the dotted outline to resize. The downside is that you may change the aspect ratio of the original pic. I just use the percentages as mentioned.

If you resize just the picture, then you have to change the size of the canvas in a seperate step. It's usually tricky to get it matched up without leaving a white border around the pic or cropping off some of the pic.

which is precisely why MSPaint is sure to cause me to have a heart-attack...it's PAINFUL to use.
But...I'm gonna get me one of these "fancy" programs so I can do cool stuff like The Dawg:D

I think the winner is JT. I like that picture, hence the fact it will now become my avatar. Thank you everyone.
