Last month I received an email from a senior woman who found me on the internet and wanted to leave her $5,000,000 fortune to distribute after her imminent death from cancer. I'm still waiting on those funds, which I should receive shortly. Now I stumbled into some more good luck!!! "A lot of bank deposits!" Man, that sounds like a lot of money. Must be all that clean living showering me with such good fortune. Hello lfmn16, I am a Lawyer by profession and my name is Mark Smith. I am contacting you because you share the same last name with a deceased client of mine who died few years ago. He left behind a lot of bank deposits with no will to mention a next of kin. I have been in recent communication with the banks where he has these deposits and they have made it abundantly clear that I should provide any of his relatives to come forward and claim his money. It is my plan therefore to present you as a relative to my late client so that his deposit can be transferred to you legally by virtue of the fact that you share the same last name and I can easily present you as his relative. I will make this presentation possible as it is my sole responsibility as the legal Administrator and I will guide you all the way until his funds are released to you. We shall be sharing the proceed of this claim equally if you accept to work with me. I will share more details with you upon your positive response to my email. I hope to hear from you soon. Best Wishes, Bar.Mark Smith Principal Partner [email protected]
i used to get those emails regularly and frequently...haven't got one in months...maybe they're on to me!
This makes me think of a meme I saw once saying "Rich Nigerian Prince dies alone in his apartment with a pile of $5 million in cash. Apparently his email pleas to give away the money went unanswered."
The other ones I get are from blackmailers that claim to have hacked your computer camera and have a video of you, shall I say "pleasuring yourself." If you don't sent $1,000 to them via bit-pay or whatever it's called, they'll mail the file to everyone on your outlook list. I sent an email back and said, "Make sure you send the part with your mother's face in it." Funny, but I never heard back.
Joking aside, I despise scammers. Months ago one got my mom on the phone and tried to scam her out of her savings. Happened while I was visiting her, so I briefly spoke to the jerk on the phone when she asked me. I could tell from his accent he wasn't located in the US, which shattered my dream of figuring out his physical location and sorting things out with him face to face. Maybe involving a baseball bat, maybe not.
