Seriously, one of those moments in rock when it all came together perfectly...and a very big part of it is that solid foundation.

Yeah, you know what kind of bass it was!

    Any other great rock examples?

I've alway disliked how the last 5 minutes of that song has that vocal line repeating over and over.

Yeah, why couldn't they have aspired towards the compact economy of a tune like, oh, say, The Beatles' "Hey Jude"?

I love this song, but have to turn it off when it changes to that slow part at the end. Practically ruins the song. They should have just faded out the "...captain, yeah yeah yeah yeah" part.

Someone should edit the song to do just that.

  7. I will agree that it does get a bit repetitive vocally but if you listen to what the band and orchestra are doing it does stay interesting. In my mind there would be no need for the Captain if the ship never got closer to home, but I have always been into lyrics and songs meaning.

For those who think it's too long, there is the single version, which is maybe half the length...of course, it's only half as good.

I loved doing that with my first band and also "Inside Looking Out" by GFR.
