impedance question

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Stu hamm rules!, Oct 19, 2002.

  1. if you add an extension speaker to a combo amp, will it always increase the power, and hence volume? i am thinking of getting a 300W laney combo (1 x 15") and adding a 2 x 10" (8ohm - the minimum for an extension on this combo). will this make the power greater than 300W? the website isn't telling me.

    Absolutely yes!

Don't know about the specific values for your amp, but my SWR Bass350 will deliver 240 watts at 8 Ohms, 350 watts at 4 Ohms and even more at 2Ohms.

You'll play much louder for sure!
