I apologize if this is the wrong forum.

Can anyone tell me if customs duties are payable in addition to PST/GST when importing a bass from the UK to Canada?

    Thanks.

Pretty sure they are but I don't remember (I only ever imported a bass once from the U.K.). The best thing to do would be to call your local customs office.

Thanks bass12. I'm in the middle of negotiating a purchase and didn't want to wait until Monday for Customs to re-open.

I would think you could call the actual border-crossing station somewhere and they could tell you. And don't forget about brokerage fees...
