For every 2 cans of soda I drink, I am forcing myself to drink one 2 liter jug of water.

For every fast food burger, 1 mile jog/run with 1/2 hour of weight lifting

For every 3 pieces of pizza, 6 meals are salads.

For every day that I am not outside and active for atleast an hour, I am going to do 100 sit ups and do pushups till i collapse.

Now, I have actually tricked myself into thinking I am going to actually do this, and was wondering if anyone else is on the same sort of plan?

wow thats cool mike, im on a similar plan.
since about the time school got out ive been doin about 50-100 push ups and 100 crunches everynight. i also have stopped drinking sodas except for with a meal. another thing ive been doin is eating much healthier. every morning i eat a bowl of cornflakes (with one spoon of sugar :p ) and i try to eat a light lunch, then for supper i eat whatever my mom cooks, though i eat less than i would have before. ive also stopped eating fast food like i use to (me and friends would eat out all the time before) so now anytime we go to a fast food joint i get a salad or something of that nature. i decided to do this just so i could get in shape. i am over weight but not obese or anything (if you saw me you'd just think i was a big guy, not fat or anything) but i really dont care about losing weight, just loosing fat and getting in shape and being healthy. i hope you can stick to your plan, its defiantely worth it in the end :)

  7. i also quit. but i had a mello yellow at the resurant yesterday no other things to drink:bawl:

  8. lets see...so far I have drinkin' only water except when I had some McDonald's breakfast...I had some iced tea crap...

so,I think i'm doing pretty good...my urine is clear as ...well...water:)

and I am not eating as much because I'm full on water.

    Bad Part:

I piss like every damn 45 minutes,it's crazy

I want to give up soda (we call it soft drink down here for some reason), but I don't drink alcohol.!
So what am I supposed to drink when I go out?

  12. When my parents let me drink alcohol,or when it's available to me...I think I am gonna go for it.

  13. I remember thinking the same thing. I was going to be a whiskey drinker, all the cool guys drank it. John Wayne, Eastwood, you know. Just be careful, you'll spend a year or so puking your guts out until you start learning how to drink properly, then a year after that you can maybe start learning how to drink to enjoy it, not just for feeling drunk.

Just a piece of advice, take it slow and let your parents know what's going on. It's so much better in the long run.

  14. thanks alot man,I appreciate the advice:)

    "Is that you John Wayne?"

    That guy is my hero:)

When ever I get the urge to exercise and get healthy, I go lay down until the feeling goes away.

  18. Don’t do any of that stuff. Start smoking 3-4 packs of cigs a day, eat all the junk food you can lay your hands on, and sit around all day playing video games. If you do happen to go out, do not, I repeat, DO NOT look both ways before crossing the street. Also if you are old enough to drive, don’t wear your seatbelt and don’t check your blind spot. Ever

I've also been trying to be healthier lately, so I've been giving this stuff some thought. My opinion on this is that you should avoid that deal-a-meal points system type rule making. (1 burger = 1 mile of jogging etc.) I believe that type of a program is too strict and that makes it hard to stick to. You have to remember that the changes you make in your diet and activity level need to be life long. You have to able to live with them. Because of that, I think that the changes should be made a little bit at a time. IMO, your goals for healthier living should be two fold: Improve diet / increase activity. I think that as long as you are improving your diet and activity level each day, you are improving. So, the first step is to be aware of where you are with your diet right now and make your improvements from there. (for example if you normally eat an average of 5 cookies per day and you reduce that to 2 or 3 cookies a day - you're doing good...you don't have to go cold turkey and quit eating cookies all together) Start an exercise routine that is easy so that you will stick to it, and add more reps and new exercises over time. If you can do X number of push ups everyday and you add 1 or 2 every few days you are moving forward. If you're making steps in the right direction, even if they are baby steps, you are moving steadily in the right direction. My $.02

...also, listen to SMASH - his post is good. I totally agree that you should break a good sweat on a regular bassis, preferably every day.
